We've just posted pictures of the cabinets in Trico Homes' brand new Aspenshire Estates show home on Facebook.

The cabinets in this home are in Echo Wood Wenge; with ebony stained crown mouldings, posts, and light valances; and aluminum framed doors from Element Designs in the corners of the kitchen. This house also shows the many different places cabinets can be used to enhance a home with cabinets in the master bedroom, laundry, front hallway, and dining room. The dining room also features deep pass through wine racks.

The house is a must see on any show home tour of Calgary or for anyone thinking "new home."

We've added yet another door style to our Premier lineup: Newcastle.

Newcastle features miter construction with a square stile and rail profile, and a raised centre panel with a pillowed outside profile.

The beauty of Newcastle is its versatility: it's ornate simplicity allows it to fit into many traditional and transitional designs.

Wrapping Thermofoil Doors

Posted in Manufacturing on February 16, 2011
See video

We promised an embedded video on the blog, and here it is!

Remember to watch closely for the following steps:

1. The operator carefully places and aligns the raw doors and mouldings on the pin tray. These pins will hold the doors and mouldings up while the wrap is pressed on, while pins with nothing on them will automatically drop down below the level of the doors and mouldings as the tray goes into the press.

2. The pin tray moves over to the wrapping station and the machine extends the wrap to cover all of the products on the pin tray.

3. The pin tray goes into the Wemhöner press which heats the material and presses it onto the doors and mouldings.

4. The pin tray comes out of the press and the sheet of doors and mouldings is lifted off and flipped over to be trimmed clean before going down the sanding and final finishing line.

Stay tuned: We'll be posting more videos of cabinet manufacturing processes on the blog this year including a video of our CNC machine drilling and scoring cabinet components and our panel saw cutting components out of sheet goods.

How a Thermofoil Door is Wrapped

Posted in Manufacturing on January 28, 2011

Have you ever wondered how a thermofoil door is wrapped? We've got the answer in our first manufacturing video. Watch closely for the following steps:

Stay tuned: We'll be posting more videos of cabinet manufacturing processes on the blog this year including a video of our CNC machine drilling and scoring cabinet components and our panel saw cutting components out of sheet goods.

For now, here's a link to the video (we're still sorting out some technical issues that are keeping us from embedding the video):
