Showroom Renovation Part 5

Posted in Renovations on August 28, 2010

The final pieces are coming together now...

This week Abeela from Paul & Abeela Window Fashions was in to replace our old blinds with new full-height vertical blinds. Sam from Carpet Town was also in to install the new carpeting for our showroom.

On the display front, Richelieu flew in a new laminate from Nevamar for our large corner kitchen display: Malleable Muse. It's a spectacular grey-green laminate that nicely complements and contrasts the Walnut on Beech and Havana on Cherrywood cabinetry.

Trail Appliances also dropped off new stainless steel appliances for our displays.

We'll have an installer back in Monday to install the white high-gloss panels in the contemporary display and to install the laminate in our large corner display. After that, we're one Caesarstone countertop from Graniteworx and two tile backsplashes away from done.

Almost there...

We're back to big items this week as we hit the final stages of our renovation.

Sefik from european style tiling ltd. was back to install the flooring in our contemporary display kitchen. Sam from Carpet Town also came by to remove and replace our old carpet. And the good folks from Graniteworx stopped in to template the new Caesarstone countertops for our contemporary display.

After this week, we're just a few sets of appliances (coming from Trail Appliances) and two countertops & tile backsplashes away from done.

Showroom Renovation Part 3

Posted in Renovations on August 14, 2010

The renovation continues...

It's been a relatively quiet week this week as the focus has been more on small details than on large pieces of the new showroom. The new contemporary kitchen display and the new transitional kitchen display next to it were in place by Tuesday. Sefik from european style tiling ltd. came by to install the tile floor and backsplash in the transitional display which means this display is now complete.

Starting Monday, Graniteworx will be in to template the Caesarstone countertops for the contemporary kitchen display and we'll get to work removing the false wall against the south-facing windows. From there, we are one tile floor, two tile backsplashes, a concrete countertop, new window coverings, and a new carpet away from done!

We'll be launching our newly renovated showroom soon with an announcement here on the blog. Be sure to stop by and check it out!

Showroom Renovation Part 2

The renovation continues...

This week, Installer Derek Biggar, Design Consultant Joe Colonna, and Installation and Service Manager Italo Colonna worked together to install the new door style and stain colour displays. Derek also put up the new wine cellar display (with Soho doors and drawer fronts in Oak finished with Havana stain), and the new coat locker display (Portofino doors in Beech finished with Ebony stain).

Starting Monday, Derek will be back from customer installations to put up the new contemporary kitchen display and the transitional display that goes next to it. All that's left after that is our new Caesarstone countertops from Graniteworx, our new concrete countertops from LeeMac Project Management Ltd., tile flooring and backsplash being installed by european style tiling ltd., and the new carpet from Carpet-Town Ltd.

We've had a lot of help with the showroom and we greatly appreciate everything the folks mentioned here and on Twitter have done for us.

Thanks this week go to installer Derek Biggar who continues to put a lot of time and effort into our new displays, Graniteworx for the new Caesarstone countertops going in our contemporary display, LeeMac Project Management Ltd. for the concrete tops going in our large kitchen display, and painter Miron Novosilets for his hard work repainting our showroom.

Of course, we also owe a huge thanks to Installation and Service Manager Italo Colonna and the entire production team at Classic Kitchens & Cabinets . They've done an incredible job turning our Design Consultants' visions into reality.

We'll be launching our newly renovated showroom soon with an announcement here on the blog. Be sure to stop by and check it out!

Showroom Renovation Part 1

Posted in Renovations on July 31, 2010

We're renovating!

Or, perhaps more correctly, we're still renovating our Calgary office and showroom. After overhauling our reception area and installing a new Echo Wood Quartersawn Wenge desk with a textured countertop from Formica, we've started to renovate the showroom.

The renovation plan includes replacing three kitchen displays and overhauling the material selection, door style, stain colour, countertop, and hardware display areas.

The new showroom will include a contemporary Echo Wood Quartersawn Macassar Ebony kitchen that pairs this rich exotic wood with aluminum frame glass doors and high gloss white thermofoil end panels, a large rustic kitchen that employs Beech cabinets in a Walnut stain with Cherrywood cabinets in a Havana stain to grand effect, and a timeless Maple kitchen in Mocha stain with bevel glass doors and a 180fx countertop from Formica.

We're also adding a locker display with Beech cabinets in Ebony stain and a wine room display with Oak cabinetry and wine racks in Havana stain.

Thanks so far go to B D W Electrical Installations for the lighting changes throughout the showroom, installer Derek Biggar who has been hard at work taking out our old displays and installing the new ones, to Dannburg Floor Coverings for our new hardwood floor, and to european style tiling ltd. for helping us with the flooring and backsplash in our new displays.

Come see us in September to check out our newly renovated showroom.
